#ChewOfTheWeek – Avo’s Feast, Fall River

They don’t call it Avo’s Feast for nothing!
Oh man where to start!? In true Portuguese fashion, Avo’s Feast treated us to more food than we could handle! First off, featured below is Avo’s Garlic Aioli French Fries. Seasoned to perfection, these fries are drizzled with a delicious Garlic Aioli sauce and banana peppers. They are no side dish! They command their own, so we went with Avo’s Clam Cakes (behind). Stuffed with a generous amount of clam, these little guys were more filling than you’d think!

Chourcio & Chip: A SouthCoast Specialty
Now it wouldn’t be a trip to a Portuguese restaurant without a Chourcio & Chip sub! My mouth is watering just remembering it, this classic dish finds its beauty in its simplicity with seasoned fries stuffed into a sub roll with Avo’s authentic Chourcio – welcome to Fall River!

The Main Course – Chicken Mozambique & Rice with Baked Beans
This was perhaps my favorite meal from our visit! This article’s header image: perfectly cooked chicken marinated in a puddle of authentic Mozambique sauce. Avo’s Mozambique sauce has just the right amount of kick to it! The way the sauce is absorbed into the rice is perfection. Not only is it delicious, but the portion is plentiful! This plate kept me fed for 3 days! It came paired with a tasty side of chourcio stuffed baked beans. And of course, this whole meal was chased with a Sumol passion fruit soda!

Just Deserts: Flan Cake & Pudim da Avo
It has been a very long time since one bite of a dish has made me physically melt back in my seat, but the Pudim da Avo did it! This delectable vanilla pudding is an essential finisher for any order from Avo’s Feast. Seriously, there are no words for how wonderful this sweet treat is! Finally, our meal was finished by Avo’s Famous Flan Cake, we were already stuffed but how could we resist making room for one more tasty desert!?
Taste the city
Avo’s Feast is an authentic Portuguese restaurant found right on Pleasant Street in Fall River. With the recipes esoteric to the SouthCoast mentioned above, along with dishes like Portuguese steaks, Cachorro Quente, and Peixe, it is a prime example of the uniquely flavorful foods found in and around Fall River. We would like to thank Mike for his hospitality and as always, if you’re in the mood for any of Avo’s delicious food, we GotChew!
